Duquesa Port

The port of Duquesa is a lively and picturesque attraction. Approx. 3 mins drive from the apartments it offers full marina services for boating enthusiasts as well as plenty of other land based attractions. The promenades encircling the port offer a variety of restaurants, intimate bars and cafés. The vast choice of eating and drinking options include French, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai and, of course, Spanish with its fresh, local fish. Numerous services and grocers are also on hand.

There are also many beautiful sandy beaches within a few minutes of the port.

Eating Out

There are many restaurants located in Duquesa port. For those who don't mind going a bit further there are plenty of other eateries to suit every budget.

There are also plenty of pubs located in the area and some of these also do food.

Beaches

There are miles of beautiful beaches located within 5 mins of Duquesa many of which have Blue Flag credits.

Duquesa's location makes it ideal for beach life as it is more sheltered than Malaga and Gibraltar.

Typical yearly temperatures are as follows:

  • January - March : 16C-18C
  • April - June : 21C - 27C
  • July - September : 27C - 29C
  • October - December : 17C - 23C

Golf

The Duquesa Golf apartments are situated right beside an excellent 18 hole golf course. Access is easy and green fees are reasonable (about €40). Designed by Robert Trent Jones this challenging course boasts magnificant views over the Mediterranean. Lessons and practice facilities are also available for all standards of player. There is also a Gym, Snooker table, Sauna, Jacuzzi, Tennis and Squash courts available for use.

Other golf courses are also nearby. These include:

  • Alcaidesa, a Links course overlooking the Rock of Gibraltar;
  • Valderrama, host of the Ryder Cup and World Championship, only twenty minutes from La Duquesa;
  • Sotogrande, a parkland course;
  • La Cañada, a wonderful golf challenge.
  • San Roque, host to the qualifying schools, is also only a few minutes away.

As if this is not enough, there are another 40-odd courses within an hour's drive.

Places to See

The apartment complex is ideally located for those who wish to tour around the Costa Del Sol. Because of this there are many beautiful towns and villages worth a visit. These include:

  • Estepona - a 10 minute drive from the apartments. This town has a beautiful beach and promenade and is well woth a visit for its shops and restaurants. Market is every Wednesday.
  • Sabanillas - Adjacent to the port of Duquesa, this small town has many restaurants and bars. Market days are Friday and Sunday.
  • Casares - this old Medieval village is also only a 20 minute drive from the apartments. Situated in the Andalucian hills this picturesque village with its white painted houses and tiny streets offers a taste of Old style spanish living.
  • Selwo National Park - a 20 minute drive from the apartments between Estepona and San Pedro. Situated on 100 hectares, this innovative nature park promises a great day out for all the family.
  • Tivoli World - a little further away than other attractions (about 45 minutes drive) but well worth a visit. This theme park has numerous rides, shows and restaurants. Not to be missed!
  • Other places worth a visit include Marbella, Puerto Banus, Cadiz, Seville, Granada and Ronda (all are within a couple of hours drive).
